00 Colombia - Decaf

from £11.50

About the coffee
This coffee comes from smallholder farmers across Colombia’s coffee-growing regions, where high elevations, rich volcanic soils and consistent rainfall create ideal conditions for producing high quality Arabica. The lots are typically grown on small family farms and processed using Colombia’s traditional washed method before being sent for decaffeination using the sugarcane process. Colombia’s diverse landscapes and staggered harvest seasons allow fresh coffees to be produced throughout the year, making it one of the most consistent sources of specialty Arabica in the world.

The sugarcane process is considered a natural method of decaffeination, as it uses a byproduct of fermented sugar, rather than chemical synthesis. It is believed to enhance the coffee’s natural sweetness and acidity, whilst leaving its other flavour compounds intact.
