About the coffee
This coffee comes from Taferi Kela in Sidamo, Ethiopia. The cherries are processed at the local washing station run by Bette Buna, a community-focused coffee project whose name translates to “House of Coffee.” Bette Buna works closely with farmers in the region to improve coffee quality while supporting long-term sustainability. They provide training on soil health, agroforestry and careful cherry selection, helping farmers produce higher quality coffee and earn better prices for their harvest. The organisation also runs a large nursery that distributes hundreds of thousands of climate-adapted coffee seedlings each year, helping local farmers improve yields and build a more stable income. Their approach focuses on transparency and traceability, with each lot carefully tracked from farm to export. Grown at high altitude and carefully washed at the Bette Buna washing station, this coffee is a great example of the bright and expressive coffees Sidamo is known for.
